George Carlin. I like just about everything of his, but particularly the stuff he did around his death. The early stand up, while still funny, is obviously dated and less sharp than his newer stuff.

It's Bad for 'ya and You are all Diseased are probably my favorites.

i liked its bad for ya a lot. carlin had a really unique attitude that made him seem more human than many other standups

A few months ago I watched a bunch of his TV appearances, interviews, and the like. That stuff is pretty interesting (and funny) as well.

its hard for me to pick an "all time great" favorite (i really like eddie murphy and dave chappelle, for example,) but in recent years ive been really impressed by bo burnham's stuff, even if it isnt traditional standup
