Don`t listen to anyone (me included), just pick something at random and try to get a new experience in order to expand your view on this world, evolve your opinions and get stronger. Even if show you`ll pick will be a failure for you, you will make your opinions evolve by thinking and defining what about the show is a failure in a first place. Different shows has different goals, take it as form of communication between you and people who created it, try to find out the idea behind show, the experience which creators wanted to share with you.

A lot of American cartoons are heavily influenced by anime these days as most of their creators enjoy it.

Not that much. I've tried a few but couldn't get into any. Bebop, One Piece, Jojo, Neon whatever it is, One punch man... Dragonball's alright, but you gotta push through the crappy bits. I also watched the likes of Yugioh and Pokemon when I was a kid, but don't think I could ever get into any of that again. Oh and the Hunter Hunter one was alright too. I saw some episodes but then there were these ants and christ that was just bad.

Nah, Chimera Ant was great (if not a bit dragged out). Greed Island sucked tho.
