Can someone explain Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2O49 because I really don't understand how people love them so much

I don't rate Blade Runner as highly, and it's not even one of my favourite films, but I can still respect it for its accomplishments. 2049 blows it out the water though. It's just one of the movie experiences when I first watched I knew was gonna be really, really special, you know? I realise it's not for everyone, but it virtually ticks all my boxes in what I expect from a sublimely crafted film.
