Super Bowl Matchup: New England Patriots (12-4) vs. Seattle Seahawks (12-4)

TV Schedule: Sunday, Feb. 1, 6:30 p.m. EST, NBC

Stadium: University of Phoenix Stadium. Glendale, Arizona

Spread: New England -1.5

The two best teams in the NFL will be meeting up in Super Bowl XLIX. This rarely happens as usually a lower seeded team gets healthy and hot during the playoffs and makes a run. But these are two #1 seeds.

How Seattle got here? They ran Marshawn Lynch into the ground (He'll be a free agent this offseason), Russell Wilson made some incredible plays and the defense came up big, not to mention, a huge choke by the packers. The Seahawks managed to beat the Carolina Panthers in their divisional playoff matchup, and beat the Packers in a come from behind thrilling game.

For the Seahawks to win this game, Lynch will have to come up big. More importantly the defense will have to find a way to stop Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and the rest of the Patriots’ offense. This is very possible given they are a top ranked defensive unit.

New England made it this far by knocking off the Baltimore Ravens and Joe Flacco (Audubon NJ shoutout), and then dominated the Indianapolis Colts.New England needs to have a balanced attack ( A successful run game and pass game) to be effective against the Seahawks. For that to happen, Brady is going to have to have plenty of time to throw, and LeGarrette Blount has to have another great outing.

Seattle has the best D in the league, but I really don't think it will be enough to stop Brady's offense. It will depend on if Marshawn Lynch can run effectively against the Pats D line. The Seahawks O, goes as Marshawn goes. In the end, I believe Seattle plays a better game than the Pats but turnovers cost them dearly. I'm taking Tom Terrific to win his 4th ring in dramatic fashion.

Just giving him so many touches and not caring for his body at all. Kind of like what the Cowboys did with Demarco this year too. Since hes a free agent as well.

Like demarco had 450 touches this year and Lynch had like 320.

You generally want to keep a RB under 275 or even 250 if you can help it. Just to make sure they don't get worn out/hurt. But since both are free agents (and probably won't resign with their teams), the management just runs them into the ground.

It's a real shame both those amazingly talented backs are gunna be irrelevant  in a year or two from overwork or not being signed to a decent team

My anticipation for this game is deflating.

This is the first super bowl match-up in a while where I just do not care at all for either team that's playing. I've never liked the Seacocks and their superiority complex. If it wasn't for the Packers completely throwing the NFC title game away the Seacocks would never be here.

And then there's the Patriots (or should I say, Deflatriots) who have somehow managed to get themselves involved in another controversy around the time for the super bowl. Being a Jets fan, it's extremely difficult to root for the Pats in any fashion, but I have to respect Tom Brady and how dominant he is as a quarterback. So, as much as this hurts, here's my prediction:

Pats 31, Seachickens 24

Only because the thought of Seattle winning consecutive super bowls makes me sick.

Seahawks fuckin' blew it, they deserved to lose after that.
