Energy swords in the games aren't an accurate representation.
That being said, it's not that powerful of a weapon compared to a lot of similar weapons.

It's also not that great of a sword based weapon either. Due to the way the hilt is designed you're going to have a hard time defending strikes against other swords or melee with it. The weapon is more for slicing than anything else.

jedi - Rogue Psykers are worse = Librarian field day
a sith - Rogue Psykers are worse = Librarian field day
a pokemon - Depends on the pokemon too much to be worth listing
hobbits - Killed with a flick of the wrist
elves - Boltgun round = Rekt
dwarves - Boltgun round = Rekt
wizards - On par with a Psyker, probably needs a special marine to deal with them
men of the west - lol

Certain pokemon and the odd wizard would be a threat, maybe a jedi but they all have far worse parallels that the Spess Mehrens regularly fight and win against.
