Unless it's from the Envasion team, you have to set the device to DFU mode, that can trigger Recovery mode if you hold it for too long.As for iOS 8, it shouldn't cause a bricking. And DFU mode isn't needed (and hasn't been, since Redsn0w, I believe). The only thing you have to do is switch your time and date to allow the hack to take advantage of an exploit.

Yes. Most of the tweaks slow down my shit however. The iPod I have is 4th gen. I need an upgrade. Thinking about getting an iPad with iOS 7.1.2 on it.
