They said letting gays serve openly would disrupt military function as well.

Gays aren't taking hormone pills and altering their bodies. Gays can also be masculine, while transexuals either want to be or have been a female in the past, which ultimately puts you at a disadvantage.

I'm assuming you mean trying to wear the uniform by female standards, since I can't recall crossdessing on your own time being against the UCMJ like sodomy once was and adultery still is.

Thats all good.

They just can't be acting like a female, or want to go through basic in a female group. They'd have to perform all the man's requirements, since they are technically and biologically male.

I'm genuinely asking, because apparently there are trans-experts on the forum who know all about this.

Because it's part of the LGBT movement and Transgenders are apart of that movement.

I don't know what it means to "feel" like the opposite gender. How do you define this feeling and know you're not misguided? I don't "feel" like a man or a woman, I just am. Being attracted to the same sex just means you're gay.

I can't say it's something I understand, either, since I haven't been there, but what I do know is it isn't a decision made lightly and doctors and psych specialists are usually involved.
