This entire fucking show is like this. So many fucking situations are bullshit exactly like this. Even the Martians' justification for invading earth is so fucking ass backward it would make your head spin. The only character that isnt complete dogshit is Slaine and he only gets away with being an illogical manipulative prick because they intentionally wrote him to be one.

Reach's voice acting wasnt particular bad by a longshot. Even that one Carter line that everyone like to reference wasnt nearly as bad as people try to paint it.

There are also far worse dubs than Aldnoah Zero TBH. For example, try to finish this without cringing hard enough to split your skull

On the contrary, I fucking hated Slaine. Have you watched season 2, Slaine becomes so fucking egotistical and narcissistic, I almost dropped it because of him.

Personally I enjoyed the show, however I will agree with you that its flaws are pretty in your face compared to its strong points. Slaine pissed me off to no end, the story can't seem to kill off an important character despite having you believe they did it three times (after the second attempt, I refused to believe that character was dead/going to stay dead in season 2 and lo and behold, she lived! Amazing!), and the story basically just copying the plot to 0079 so much they might as well have called their spaceship the White Base.

Now what I would have LIKED to see? Our can-do-no-wrong MC (in a tolerable state) fight off a new orbital knight every week simply using his own natural wits like he did with the first Aldnoah Kataphrakt, too bad they went the route of having him mirror Slaine on the same goal of "WHO IZ RESPONSIBLE?!"

Vangaurd is actualy a far better game than Yu-Gi-Oh. If you have intrest in card game I sugest giving it a try. I jumped on the vangaurd band wagon back when it first released because that was when Yu-Gi-Oh's meta was first going to shit.
The show is pretty alright too. Seasons 1 and 3 were great. 4 was good but 2 was absolute turboshit and Vangaurd G is Love Live and sometimes trading cards show up.

As for "The covenant is on reach" let's not forget that Carter is a Spartan, who are not exactly known for being the most emotionally driven people in the galaxy, plus he's just showing basic discipline in his communication and remaining calm. Would you honestly rather have him going hysterical over the radio and freaking out while absolutely nothing is happening around him? Isn't that what everyone hates the Spartan IVs for?
