I thought the amount of humour the movie had was pretty much adequate (however, the quality of the jokes should be much better. The only one I laughed at was "Y'know, with balls like yours... you belong in here.")

I mean really, how many jokes are in Batman's comics? Or Superman's?

I haven't seen the movie yet, so I can't comment. Just telling you what I read from reviews.

And Batman tends to make jokes; dark humor, but he does crack one-liners.

i feel the amount of humor found in the film is perfect honestly, even though most of the jokes come from Lawrence Fishburne's character (my favorite one is the wizard of oz reference)

I feel like the writing was pretty bad to begin with and Snyder said that there was a lot of studio intervention with MoS so it's hard to tell where the blame lies. I still think that he should switch over to a producer role however.

Goyer and Terrio obviously aren't the best writers, sure, but let's call a spade a spade: Snyder is mostly a garbage director. There are only a handful of quality scenes in both MoS and BvS that I would attribute to him.

Just saw it a couple hours ago, and wow, probably one of the biggest critical misfires I've ever seen conducted on a film.

It's not perfect sure, and they're blowing their load too early by shoving all these unnecessary characters in the film, but fucking hell, 29% on RT? That's bullshit, especially seeing how lacklustre MCU movies such as Iron Man 3, Thor The Dark World and Age Of Ultron can all manage to somehow scrape the 60s and 70s.

A strong 7/10 from me. I don't like how they've handled their characters but I do like the creative direction they're going with. All they need to do is replace Hack Snyder as a director, pace the films properly and it could easily surpass the MCU critically and financially.

The pacing is easily their biggest problem, in my opinion. Both Man of Steel and Batman V Superman suffer from it. I'm not sure if it's the fault of Snyder or the writers, but someone's gotta go.

I'm also not sure who I'd replace Snyder with. He's pretty much WB's "big gun", where Marvel has, y'know, the Russo brothers and Whedon.

But yeah, RT really doesn't like Snyder for some reason. I wouldn't give the film anything higher than a 6, personally, but Man of Steel was a solid 8 and it's currently sitting at, what, a 50%?

Personally, I'd want WB to try and harness the obvious potential Snyder has at making such an amazing ~~Superman~~ movie rather than just giving the reins to someone "more safe."

Honestly, if he has a solid, strict script with prominent boundaries to stick to, like he did with Watchmen (his best movie, IMO) we could get something really special. There are moments in this film that are just fantastic. "Garbage dialogue." Wouldn't that be Goyer and Terrio's fault more than anything?

Why can't they just utilise DC's staff of fantastic writers? Imagine Geoff Johns or Scott Snyder working on a Superman/Batman movie script, respectively. Obviously writing and pacing a movie is different from a comic book but I'm sure WB has the means to help them out.
