even if it was one in a trillion, that woman deserves every right to serve her country

if new data came out that said only one in a million people from kansas qualify for a combat role, would you forbid everyone from kansas from joining? No, you would still let those anomalies enlist when they appeared.

Kill yourself, that's bullshit reasoning that feminists have created. Unit Cohesion isn't the fucking reason, I'll fucking serve with blacks an arabs, of which I've had on my fucking squad, just fine. And you know me.
But for whatever reason, raw effectiveness in combat is decreased and there are studies on and by the IDF on co-ed combat arms units that display this perfectly.

Equality and morality is far more important than having the best military we can possibly have. Even if we let the women who qualified serve, it wouldn't be some doomsday thing that cripples the military like everyone is obsessing about.

Her unit seems to be doing just fine. Hell, they're proud of her.

Admittedly, she is one in a million.  If this were in antiquity, she'd have a "The Great" after her name, and she'd be in history books.

But it does call into question many of the reasons why women are denied the right to fight.

It wouldn't be doomsday, you are correct. But it could set an awful precedent that makes us keep making exception after exception. We need our military to be at its best.

same argument that people used to prohibit blacks from enlisting

hold women to the same exact standards as any man, and let her enlist if she passes. That's a drop in the bucket for military efficiency, and also lets us stop becoming discriminatory monsters.

If someone can pass all of the standards as they are, then they should be able to serve; If they can't, they shouldn't. AF Pilot standards shouldn't be lowered because I don't have 20/20, but if I did then I'd sure as hell hope I was considered (all else not-withstanding).
