blondie, the cure, depeche mode, new order, echo and the bunnymen, ultravox, billy idol, pet shop boys, the smiths

just goes on, man. i just love the overall sound and tone. it's kind of a ill-defined genre i know (because the sound ranges from an electronic and synth basis to a more acoustic sound) but there's just something authentic about it. new order straddles this line particularly often.

It's okay. A lot of crap, though--which is kinda to be expected, considering that it's basically pop's bastardization of hardcore punk.
