Toho is trying to make a serious-tone Godzilla movie and this is a pretty big risk, since the last one they made that was serious and dark was the original 1954 film and every film after was over the top and ridiculous.

It also looks like they had a much bigger budget this time around but still some of the effects looked goofy. There seems to be a complete new cast of characters too. The films from the 90s had most of the same human characters, like that girl who tries to interact with Godzilla's mind and Godzilla Jr and the two Mothra fairies.

Godzilla's look does remind me of his look he had in Godzilla vs DESTOROYAH in his melting down state but I'm happy they seem to have gone back to the Heisei design. That was my favorite Godzilla look and era.

Other than that, this does seem like its gonna be a traditional Toho Godzilla film. I may not like some of the stuff I saw but as long as I see Godzilla destroy the shit out of everything in sight, ridiculous military weapons/scenes, and bad english dubbing I'll be satisfied.

Even if Godzilla is somehow killed, he always has some offspring that grows up into a bigger, angrier Godzilla.

- Direct meteor impact to the face without a scratch
- Survived being thrown into a volcano
- Survived a black hole
- Has been in outer space and can somehow breathe up there
- Was erased from history from time travelers and yet still managed to be alive in the modern day
- Attacks from monsters who were supposedly stronger than Godzilla like Orga, Gigan, all Mechagodzillas, and King Ghidorah
- Always gets tickled by military weaponry

So what? The first Mechagodzilla was able to shoot its hands and feet at Godzilla as missiles and shoot out cables that penetrated Godzilla's skin to electrocute him and guess what, Godzilla fought back and was still able to destroy Mechagodzilla.

Mechagodzilla also had eye lasers, a mouth laser, missile packs in its fingers/knees/mouth/toes, and had a cannon in its chest with enough power to split a mountain in half. Mechagodzilla could also fly with rocket jump jets in its feet too and the speed of Mach 5. This was the weakest and smallest Mechagodzilla version too by the way.
