Do you think that despite the scariness of the huge wave it would actually be a quick and painless death? Crushed instantly by monumental forces? Or slowly drowned and battered to death while sucked up to the crest?

i've had dreams about giant tidal waves crashing over me

i would look up just before the impact to just gaze in awe at the sheer size of it, and it would give me this crazy vertigo

and then i'd die

The wave wouldn't kill you; the force would probably shatter your bones-- puncturing various organs-- while simultaneously knocking whatever wind you had out of you. You'd drown, regardless of if it's ocean-water or blood.

Or you'd get lucky and hit something at an angle perfect enough to snap your spinal cord and you'd die instantly. I don't like those chances, though.
