I just find being active and physical outside more fun than tinkering with action figures.
You use your brain when tinkering. I understand it might not have been a strong suit.
>getting this mad over me not liking legos
Yeah but if you don't like LEGO you should legit kill yourself.

Not even kidding
I legit bought the new Millennium Falcon that came out a bit back. God damn its so pretty. Best purchase in a while.
I wanna get a massive box of LEGO just to get back into building
It actually quite relaxing.  I say go for it.

The main issue I have with new Bionicle is CCBS and the huge lack of parts in useful colors other than neutrals.  Especially since the switch to new blues and green.  This was really apparent in the Bionicle Mask Maker Challenge.  By the way which was totally stupid in the end since the winner didn't even use ccbs like Lego kept saying to use.  And no, Bionicle was not considered Technic, Lego clarified that early on.
i'm not totally digging the designs for the new ones either, but that's probably just bias on my part

Yeah, they rebooted it this year.
awesome
Not as awesome as they use to be. I was out with a few friends just walking around Walmart one night and came across the rebooted Kopaka, and bought it on impulse. Looks cool, but the parts are... Weird. All of the armor plating on his body is hinged with ball sockets, so the move around in a really awkward, easily-detachable way. They don't hold together as well as they use to.

But Bionicles are still literally the best toy ever.

Nobody's mad here, we're all just kind of baffled that you don't like lego.

Were you born into poverty or something, and after seeing all the kids with those cool lego sets your mind decided to throw it into the sour grapes vault for eternity?

Or, you're just being a contrarian.
Legos weren't even expensive, so I don't know what you're talking about. I just don't understand this Lego craze. They're building blocks. That's it. I built stuff with them when I was a kid, sure, but I don't hold this weird nostalgic fixation with them even as an adult. You guys make fun of me for liking kids shows while you play with kids toys. I just find it hypocritical and annoying.

"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.

They did keep quite a bit of the Hero Factory theme in their new designs, so that's fair.

It's not the new designs i have an issue with.  It's CCBS itself.  I'm having a hard time adjusting to it because it's not detail oriented like old Bionicle.  It uses a lot of ball and socket, which gets complicated real quickly and more or less forces you to stay around one scale.  Not that building is impossible, i just can't figure out how to work with it, on top of, again, the severe lack of colored pieces.

I don't like that, either. I guess it's because they have an older audience that grew up with Bionicle in mind, and they would be used for display instead of play.

Still, those little protector guys don't have that problem, though they are a lot less poseable, and their arms are weird.

A big part of that is the generic look of ccbs in general.  Sure you can do some neat things, but not with shells alone.  The new winter sets are doing a bit better with piece designs and new built bodies instead of the Hero Factory skeletons.

"Anything"? No. You can make multicolored things with square edges.

And that's why I've never understood the Lego hype. Other brands of building blocks exist. Literally countless. Legos are the same. I guess the appeal is they're stronger and smaller? Still a pretty dumb reason that the franchise is an empire at this point.

Favorites inbound:

The Piraka and the Barraki were literally the most badass motherfuckers on the planet.

God, I know I said "Favorites," but I loved all the Bionciles. I can only think of a handful up until 2007 that I didn't buy.

they took the complexity of the human body and made it simple for a child to build in his bedroom

i don't know, it's a novel concept

personal affection probably has a lot to do with it

You could say "We're atoms. That's it".

Ridiculously silly arguments.

Are you really comparing the many things that atoms can create and destroy to the very limited kinds of buildings you can make with rectangular blocks?

The only problem I have with that is the fingers. The little connectors on those parts break really easily.

How so? God, you people are defensive. I don't really like Minecraft, I don't really like Mega Blocks, I don't really like Legos. I'm not interested in designing buildings. What other reason is there to like Legos?

I hate this forum's Bionicle circlejerk. Yeah, I had them. Yeah, they were cool. Were they the coolest thing in the history of toys? Not by far.
Hence the challenge:

name something better or more worthy of praise than the bionicle

or LEGO in general, to be honest
Going outside? When I was a kid, we found sticks and swordfought. Big log-like sticks were greatswords, small flimsy ones were daggers, etc. Using your imagination, running around like you're a Jedi or a samurai - that's the best kind of toy.

>playing with sticks
>can't afford actual toy swords
>implying you can't play with bionicles outside
>implying you can't use your imagination with bionicles

Other plastic can be used, and the model for the fingers can be changed to something new, since it seems LEGO is up and up on creating new parts nowadays. Rather than before, when they liked making parts modular and reusing as much as possible.
