I liked card/board games a lot more than actual "toys" (and I spent way more time outside than inside), but I played with Lincoln Logs a lot when I was a kid. I always preferred those to Legos because they looked really aesthetically pleasing and you could build a lot of different things with them.
i was just about to mention lincoln logs, actually

they were aesthetically pleasing, weren't they

Class has yet to name a better toy.

Because he can't
Battleship was fun. I also had a cool robotics kit when I was younger, you could design and build things that actually moved around and responded to inputs. Much more fun than blocks IMO
>bionicle
>blocks

lol
no wonder you're so wrong
Well I'd put Bionicle in a separate category than regular Legos, they're more like action figures than blocks. I had a few Bionicles, and they were cool, but I just didn't like them as much as everyone here does

@Winy: yeah I kinda just realized I derailed this bad, I'll stop posting lol

I loved the Bionicle thing McDonald's did. Sure, the toys themselves were shitty, but they came with uniquely coloured masks that you could attach to your Toa.

I fucking love Voltix from Hero Factory. The chaotic colours and design in general just gives me a boner.

The Rahkshi never got special sets like the Bohrok did, which still makes me sad. At least you could make silver ones out of pieces from the 2003, 2005 and 2008 sets.

I remember reading about the comics that were issued around the series' end, and if I remember right, the lore was really extensive, for a kids' franchise. Like, the lore of the story goes way bigger in scale than just "Toa fight the forces of Makuta." It's insane how big it is.

Oh yeah, I forgot that they shot disks.

I have a Protector of Fire and it has a shoulder-mounted gun that shoots those little studs and like, you can't fire it because it's almost guaranteed that you'll lose them.

Pic for reference;

Disappointing, those sets are much less inspired than previous Bionicle iterations.

There's just no room for creativity with these, really. Plus they keep reusing parts, and the parts that they're reusing are kind of shitty.

White one was the best, only because of the bloodstains on his mouth.

I liked the green one.

Why did they reuse the same weapon for every character except Onua, who has the hammer from Monster Hunter, and the cool looking reindeer guy with a bow?

Also, why are they shooting those little studs? The old projectiles from the underwater line seemed better.

Like, the lore is so much more intensive than you'd expect. It's like something out of an ancient Mythology.

One hundred thousand years ago Teridax was "created" by the Great Spirit Mata Nui as a member of the Brotherhood of Makuta, whose job was to create and alter Rahi as needed; the Brotherhood soon also took on the job of protecting Mata Nui's chosen people, the Matoran. Teridax was put specifically in charge of the city of Metru Nui and its surrounding region by the leader of the Brotherhood, Miserix. In this time, Mata Nui and Teridax were so close that they were considered "brothers."

At one point eighty thousand years ago, the Brotherhood had discovered through the traitor Takadox that a military alliance called the League of Six Kingdoms was plotting no less than the overthrow of Mata Nui himself. The Brotherhood, allied with Mata Nui's champions, the Toa, and Teridax led a preemptive strike against the League and their leaders, six warlords titled "Barraki." The operation was a complete success, and all six Barraki were captured, but as Teridax was about to execute them a stranger named Botar appeared. He and Teridax argued over the fate of the Barraki until Botar finally teleported away, taking the Barraki to the Pit with him. Though Teridax would occasionally wonder about the stranger and what he had done with the Barraki, he would more often consider the League's ultimate goal, and concluded that a Barraki was ultimately unworthy to replace the Great Spirit. However, he then began thinking about taking over the Matoran Universe himself.

And that's like 1/15th of the page on Teridax.
