My Statistics Professor Was Arrested...

... For having sexual relations with a student when she was a high school teacher.

On Oct. 17th, she started teaching a Statistics express course at Collin Community College. She said that she had been a high school teacher "last year", not mentioning that she had only ceased being a high school teacher 16 days prior.

On Nov. 19th, she sent out a message to all of us saying she "felt ill". She sent out a similar message the next class.

The class after that, we learned from the Assistant Dean that she had called that day telling the administration she wouldn't bs able to finish the semester. We now know why.

Ends up she had actually neglected to teach us anything beyond the basic concepts, so we are very behind. This explains why I was actually doing somewhat well in a math class.

I can give you that on account of the fact that she's in prison. Most people don't usually give a smile for mugshots. And if they do, then they usually have that case of crazy eyes. Go figure.

Something like this happened in my school's geology department. It was all legal and consensual, but against school policy, so the prof got suspended, or as the students put it, "uplifted."

Then a wave of geology jokes centering around "thrust" faults, Moh's scale of mineral "hardness," "drilling," etc. followed.

Actually that's because there's a better chance of getting jail time if you're already in jail and not facing trial from bail. On record, a far higher percentage of whites than blacks pay bail in the united states. Other than monetary restrictions, the reasons for this cultural malalignment elude me.
