Those who watched Gurren Lagann, which half of the show do you prefer?

Before timeskip, or after timeskip? They are both great but pretty different. The first half was a nice (post apocalyptic?) show with manly men and robots fighting bad guys, and then suddenly 7 years later it's a sci fi where shit gets serious and the world is gonna end.

Which one did you prefer? I think I liked the second half more, the final 3 episodes were like the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Fun fact: Gurren Lagann is one of the few anime that Das has outright dropped because it sucked so much.

I've like never been sad about anyone's death in movies and shows. Sometimes, when it's a character I care about, I feel a small smile forming. Sure, this is weird and all, but I keep thinking "oh shit he's dead, he might actually be dead, and that's bad", but I only think this way to try and make myself feel anything. Unfortunately it isn't working.
