I've been listening to my playlist a lot recently while doing uni work, and I've been looking to expand it with some more stuff than the ~300 songs I've got right now. I can link the playlist if anyone particularly wants to see it but the general gist of it is going on bands I like and just clicking "add album" on all their stuff.

Anyway, I figured people here might know some good recommendations.

stuff i like - i added a note for what stuff I have all albums down in case there's something by an artist I've missed
Muse (all albums + most B sides)
Queens of the Stone Age (all albums)
Royal Blood (both albums)
Foo Fighters (most albums)
Kasabian
Kaiser Chiefs
Pendulum
The Prodigy
Nirvana

I've also got the big songs from AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple but I'm still working my way through all their catalogue.

So yeah, some recommendations would be great, especially stuff more similar to Muse/ QoTSA/ Royal Blood/ Foo Fighters as that's the stuff that makes up a bulk of my playlist and what I've been listening to a lot lately.

literally NIN

there's a song trent did with both dave grohl and josh homme, if you weren't aware

YouTube

with teeth might be the first place you look, based on what you like, not sure if his older stuff would actually appeal to you (even if it's strongly preferred by most fans, including myself)

the fragile is a 120-minute investment of your life but it's worth listening to, to understate it

maybe check out the downward spiral if you're feeling angry or sad

pretty hate machine is cool if you want something vintage

it's hard to say what you'll think of anything else, beyond that it's very hit or miss

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.
RXYZYXR - II of V. Its instrumental proge metal. Thats the extent of what i could safely recommend lol.

oh and if you like muse so much, i see no reason why you wouldn't like radiohead

any album works, just avoid pablo honey until you've decided you're a fan or not

i'd recommend kid A, a moon shaped pool, or OK computer, as starting points

Oh sweet thanks. I've been planning on looking at the other stuff Homme has been in like Kyuss and Desert Sessions (and I forgot to put Them Crooked Vultures in OP) so this is definitely something to look at. This seems really interesting, thanks.

Coldplay is less inspired Radiohead if you're looking for that type of sound.

O.K. Computer by Radiohead was my first Radiohead album and I loved it.

With Teeth/Hesitation Marks by Nine Inch Nails are the most accessible ones, but Pretty Hate Machine was the first NIN record that resonated with me.

In The Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson is an interesting ride you might enjoy.

Such as you are and still not seeming to mind by Lazarus Clamp is a pretty low key album I like to throw on in the background when it's raining.

Not gonna bother quoting every post but I'll just say thanks for all the recommendations. I'm gonna work through the stuff recommended in this thread over the next few days/ weeks and I'll try post updates of stuff I liked/ disliked if people care for that sort of thing?

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
Iron Maiden

Start at Number of the Beast and work your way until Seventh Son. Skip the albums from the mid to late 90s because Bruce isn't the singer and Adrian Smith isn't there either. As for the albums released in the 2000s, Brave New World, Dance of Death, and A Matter Of Life And Death are good and the band is all back together. Skip The Final Frontier and go straight to The Book of Souls after that.

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
You might enjoy  some of the emo/alt shit I've been getting back in to recently that wouldn't be too far removed from that post grunge vibe you seem to jam with.

I wouldnt skip X Factor and Virtual XI
because they do have a few good songs on them.

Sign of the Cross and The Clansman are great songs.

The Rock in Rio versions with Bruce singing them are the superior ones

If you know, you know.
While driving a friend around in my car, he got interested in some of the songs that played on the sound system. He asked for a list. I made one. Check it out here: https://1drv.ms/x/s!AnOhI4CPiifCg71uP2AydKm7gY4Tiw

I really liked it, probably their best work since Black Holes and Revelations. Not a big fan of Something Human and Get Up And Fight is just awful but everything else is really good. In particular, Algorithm, Blockades and The Void. I'm going to see them in Manchester in June which should be pretty great.

Hey Bacon, how's Omega doing?
Shdooby forgot to pay for the site and then it got permanently deleted.
