if you really feel this way about it, find a part time job and save up money for the things you really want. seems to me like you're getting a pretty fucking sweet deal if they're paying for you to move out AND bought you a nice going away present like that.

okay so I would be grateful and stuff... here's the thing though. I don't know if I need a desktop to be there. this isn't a matter of I just got the thing and I'm not happy with it. It's a matter of there are possibly more logical concerns that need to be addressed. such as if I should have got this laptop or just got an entirely new desktop computer instead and built it when I got there. I could get a better deal than the laptop. My dad said that I should worry more about portability so I don't have to carry around a big desktop computer with me while I'm there. So he said that the laptop would be best. I still want an upgraded desktop computer though... and having a desktop while I'm there would be a lot nicer than this laptop.
