I mean, okay, the color is actually pretty neat. If I had an old rifle with a stripped finish and a boring wood grain, I might do something similar.

But not a mauser. Not even a Yugo frankengun mauser. That bitch would be restored lovingly to factory specs and displayed on a wall above my grandfather's 1866 Springfield.

Blacked out guns are just too... boring, and od green/desert tan grips just reek of tacticool operating. When I do get around to building an AR, I'm powder coating the rails deep purple.

I do not care if it looks boring or not. I do not have them to stare at them, I have them to shoot them.

I don't have my vehicles to stare at either. Doesn't stop me from making them a little more personalized.
