fuck these arbitrary age restrictions. people who are 17 can very well be just as mature as someone who is 18. I understand that there needs to be boundaries because we can't determine who is mature enough for sex and who isn't. If someone has sex with a 17 year old who is older than 18 they don't deserve any sort of persecution. It gets more and more complicated with the younger ages though. I know in some cultures they say you're an adult by the age of 13 and then they let you have kids. I know I heard that somewhere. I wouldn't condone that in america though. I do believe that there can be a lot of psychological damage associate with sex in younger people. Especially in cases of rape. I do believe that there are even 16 year olds who probably are intelligent enough to understand consent and are mature enough to handle themselves. That being said, I don't really have any interest in having sex with younger people anyways. I just hate the black and white moral guidelines that our legal system puts on things, and then that get adopted by the people who live by the guidelines as the absolute moral law. People see the justice system as black and white, they see it as absolute morality.

See now, this is why I'm in favor of more teens becoming gay. You can't accidentally knock up your high school romance via gay sex.

Let's see now...

Out of two schools ~250 people within that age, which had about 50 couples (inc. those with other people outside of school). I recall 2 cases of pregnancy overall, and 1 being planned and actually doing well.

Obviously not all had sex in these relationships, but you can damn well rule out that a bunch of teenagers not doing it. Your odds are waaay to pessimistic.
