When Brandon was controlling Hodor he was still in the past during it. That girls "Hold the door" command along with it being repeated several times resulted in Wylis repeating that command and causing him to become retarded. When he stopped having those seizures he was no longer Wylis, he was now Hordor.

The unfortunate accident caused by that girl could have been done to Aerys due to Bloodraven visiting him in the past. When BR was in the past with Aerys someone ended up going "Burn them all". Burn them all as in either dead bodies to stopped them from coming back as zombies or zombies since they burn easily. That command could have caused Aerys to have a similar incident to Wylis, but it wasn't as harmful. To back this up when Aerys was dying he kept going "burn them all" just like what Wylis was doing with "hold the door".

Since present Brandon was the reason for Hodor what would be interesting is if he could screw up a non-retarded character. For example he mind fucks Joffrey into saying something about sparing Ned's life or simply mind fucking him which results in him becoming like Hodor for punishment.

Yes it sounds like one but at the same time it's credible. Hordor came into existence due to Brandon being in the past while controlling him and that girls command screwed him up. Its not too far fetch for the same thing to happen to Aerys due to both characters starting off normal and then becoming mental and Aerys repeating "burn them all" just like Wylis repeating "hold the door".
