Technology has not screwed me over today, but in the past my PC had many issues, mostly with games. That is, before I upgraded it. Before this upgrade, whenever I tried to play Fallout 4, I would be lucky to play for an hour before it decided it wanted to close. As time went on, it got worse. I couldn't play it for 10 minutes. To add to this, I was running on the lowest settings and it still did this.
This wasn't all that refused to work. During the Steam sale, I decided to purchase the entire Mount and Blade collection. Of course, nearly any computer could handle these games. But guess what, they too decided that they didn't want to work, at all. The games wouldn't even launch. Just like with Fallout 4, I desperately tried to fix this issue. I thought maybe it was a compatibility issue with Windows 10, but it wasn't. After setting in compatibility mode with earlier Windows versions and reinstalling them, I quit. I waited in desperation for a better PC.
Not long after, the new parts arrived. After it was set up, I decided to run Fallout 4. There was this thing I'd do before my upgrade. When you have to run to the vault, I would go off course until the bombs drop. Since that kills you, you obviously have to go through a loading screen. It usually crashes here. It didn't. It also didn't after going into the cryogenic pod, which it usually does there as well. Finally, I could play this game after months of not being able to. Also the M & B games decided to work. I have yet to try how well New Vegas will run now.
tl;dr: Before I upgraded my PC, I had problems with certain games running without crashing. These issues are gone.
