Yes, because I am of course going to phrase it in a way that is insulting to myself. You guys listed them out, I did too.

2) they refused to include the original versions, so the original version, with he original Anakin, is lost for the time being unless you get it through.. certain means.

All the 2004 special editions that Hayden's ghost first appeared in have the Theatrical Versions with them though. I own all three and the Theatrical works perfectly fine. I don't have any audio or video glitches that these versions are supposedly plagued with.

Quote
I know you are a prequel fan, and deride people who prefer the OT

I'm a Star Wars fan, and deride people who get assblasted when the PT is mentioned.

Quote
for being upset with the changes but we do have an argument. We should have the original versions as well as the SE.

Blame normies, not me. I'd be fine with original cuts released. The problem is, this creates 2 issues:

1) OTfags will go through Star Wars forums even harder, claiming that these prints are the canon versions. We have enough of that cancer already.

2) Normies won't know the difference, so if they accidentally pick up the Theatrical versions, they're gonna be confused why Anakin deaged in Ep. VIII or whatever movie he appears in, or why the Emperor looks like a monkey, or why Vader has eyebrows. Blame the normies.

Quote
Also if we see Anakin's ghost I think the best option would be to age Hayden a tad, and make him look closer to Shaw. Give him a shorter haircut. I think this would please most.

This doesn't makes sense with the established lore though. Ghosts don't age, and Anakin looks like he did in the Clone Wars, because even though his spirit was redeemed, his form that he died in was corrupted from years of darkside use.

Hayden will obviously have aged in real life though, ain't nothin to do about that. Though, they did just CGI two characters in the new movie.

They haven't released the original versions in a good quality (the original versions on the bonus disc are just a scan of the laserdisc version), and the original versions were last released in an official manner an entire decade ago.

And they never will.

Like I said, it's just confuse the kids and the normies. The only people who really care enough about that are now raising children. If it hasn't happened yet, it never will.

I grew up with gen 1. I'm not retarded enough to think it's the best generation. Get on my level you filthy nostalgia fag.

I think Gen 3 has done the best work.

Anyway, bed time. Finally meeting up with IRL friends again after a long time.

Alright. Start off with this example. Demonstrate how something applies to yourself before accusing somebody of something. I probably would have reacted in a less upset manner had you led with this.

I like ROTS the most because it's the first Star Wars film I saw in a theater. We were poor when I was young, so I only saw the others by renting them at the library. It was great and the perfect ending to the Trilogy in my opinion. The movie gets better every year too, because of Clone Wars or something new gets added to the lore of the movie. Despite it being the last movie made, until Lucas sold, it feels like its the movie the whole franchise revolves around. Everything leads up to it, and the OT and ST happen because of the shockwave this movie's events lay throughout the galaxy.

I actually liked 4 the best for a long time until I re-watched them before episode 7. Same with 3 1 2

However after going through them all, I do have it 546,  but 2 switched with 1. Why? Because for me, 1 was a whole lot of freaking nothing between the big set pieces. I have no problem with the acting, and heck I can even let the medichlorian thing slide if I'm feeling generous because idgaf about Star Wars lore to an insane degree. But geez, just the loooooooooooong periods of nothing make the movie so boring to me, and I can only stand so much Jar Jar before I get annoyed with the semi-racist accent. So it's 321 now. Aside from the corny love story, I did enjoy seeing Anakin have his little lashes of wanting more power

and Vader's theme subtly playing in the background when he broke down to Padme about him slaughtering all the kids and what not. Probably the nicest touch on that entire movie to me.

3 2 1 until I blow a hole in my head if you make me watch ep 1 again

I never got the argument against Midichlorians. I understood it when I first saw the movie, and TCW reinforces it in the Yoda arc. Everyone has Midichlorians in star wars. Everyone is connected to the force, and everyone can use the force. It just comes "naturally" to Jedi, but even they take a lifetime to master it.

How does this ruin the Force?

How does this ruin the Force?
There are some things in every grand universe that are best not explained in great detail, or else the entire fascination of it is ruined. Good examples?

Forerunners in Halo. It was great when there was some subtle hints that humans were forerunners, or somehow very closely related (them being the only ones able to operate such ancient abandoned technologies). Now? Nah they're just an entire thing themselves and somehow went to war with humans before, and then they got reset.

Reapers in Mass Effect. Seeing Sovereign for the first time and him going on about how they are eternal, and his booming and dangerous voice, just made you feel all sorts of things from this ancient entity. We as humans are dictated by time, so we always think things have to have a beginning and end. Same with the Reapers. But they claimed they were eternal, and they were always a threat coming to get you. So what happens? We learn some Reaper looking races made some AI who made Reapers in their image and is controlling it, thus ruining that entire mystery, and honestly, taking away any sort of sentient threat that guys like Sovereign and Harbinger were, since you know they were controlled by some random AI.

These are just two examples off the top of my head, but it reinforces the point that not everything needs to be explained in great detail (Obi-Wan in ep 4 summed it up perfectly. "Magic bullshit" basically), and that there is sometimes more power in mystery and subtlety, than diagnosing everything to its core.

Because they injected a cold, scientific explanation for a previously unexplained force of nature--which, for some people, takes away some of the mystery and wonder from the universe. But not for me--I love and fully support the concept of Midi-chlorians, because I think it's important to explain how the Force works. Otherwise it becomes an easy, convenient out for any sticky situation (an "ass-pull").

I mean, it still kind of is, but it's more acceptable now, because there's a fake scientific explanation to back it up. Which is a good thing.

yeah, i actually do remember you going off on episode 1 some time ago--about the time TFA came out i think

still, i was right--it's either one of those two numbers and nothing else with most star wars fans

i find the consistent lack of variation to be really stunning

If we're going by statistics, it means those are the two most well done films. Or at least hit the themes most fans enjoy.

5 and 3

I like 3 simply because how dark it is. Same with 5 I guess in getting a bit non cheery. Star Wars has a dark history, so going into that is always cool.

Anyway, I must sleep. Will reply tomorrow.

New leaked photo of Rouge One:

Spoiler
one of my favorite games

I did not immediately get this meme because I couldn't think of anyone misspelling this, but now that I've seen tons of people on Bungie.net spell it as Rouge, it's suddenly quite clear.

Why is that? Is it like the "i comes before e" thing that you guys are taught and also results in people misspelling some words? Or just people who can't spell to save their lives?
I think people are just dumb. The most common silent letter in English is the silent "e," so that might have something to do with it. More than one silent letter tends to look too foreign for some people to handle.

Also, to be fair, "rouge" is a real word, so spell-check doesn't pick up on it. And most people don't proofread their own messages.

Probably. I don't think they would end the protagonists of the TV show in a cameo.

While I like dark wars, it attracts to many edgy katana types.  Where they think RotJ or a new Star Wars show is shit because it isn't edgy enough.

The droid Chopper was at the Yavin base apparently. Bottom left of a shot, he's rolling by.

I expect rogue one to sit between 7 and 1 or 1 and 3.

If that were true, Revenge would be my least favorite prequel and Attack would be my favorite. Not that there's anything wrong with having contrarian opinions--especially when you're right.

That's the other thing about 546>ers--they cannot accept other people's opinions and simply refer to them as contrarian if they go even somewhat outside of their little box.

Valuing unique opinions over popular opinions because they are unique makes you contrarian. A unique opinion doesn't make it more or less correct.

That being said, opinions are opinions and everyone has a right to their own.

Episode two is legitimately the worst movie in the franchise tho.

Episode 2 could have been the best, but objective rankings should not value potential over end result.

Verb should elaborate (as in, give critical analysis for once) instead of stating 'this is objective fact' like a broken record, and then cherrypicking everyone else's posts as a substitute for having a fleshed out stance of his own.
