All those poor men who could have lived full lives but died...never forget them. None of us could storm that beach.

We always say to fight fire, you must use fire. This is wrong. Fighting fire with fire will leave scars and a new flame will rise. We must instead use water. It is the opposite of fire, it extinguishes the fire, it cools, it refreshes, it heals. We are made up of 70% water, we are not made up of 70% fire. Please practice what we truly are

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
I can't even imagine what going through D-Day must have felt like.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for every brave soul that went through hell and back on that day.

This isn't about national pride it's about 12,000 men who died storming a beach to liberate France. D-Day included many Allied countries, not just the U.S.

Oh, hey.
The men and women of that generation are really unlike any other. Must have been an honor. It's sad to see how little people appreciate the brave souls that helped the Allies win WW2.

It's not something we can ever really understand, because we haven't had a situation with so much on the line.

Never forget the men who stormed those beaches, and the men who parachuted behind enemy lines the night before. Those guys were real heroes, and no one can argue otherwise.

Try being a doughboy or any other WW1 soldier and being forced to run across open ground to the other sides trench while being destroyed by machine guns and artillery fire. Which is all due to outdated tactics. For the Battle of The Somme tens of thousands of British soldiers became casualties on the first day. The people in WW2 had it far better than the boys of the first world war.

You can't force or guilt trip someone into caring or get sentimental about D-Day, so stop.

I wonder about the genes we lost in WWI and WWII... did we erase a lot of primitive, violent genes? Maybe. Did we also lose some really good genes? Probably.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.
lol

Germany would have lost the Ostfront with or without D-Day, and the western forces would have fallen eventually. The Normandy landings simply sped up the US/UK drive to the Rhine.

The war with Russia was going badly before D-Day. After that battle Germany was doomed in the Eastern Front. Even if D-Day failed the chances of Germany winning were low at that point. D-Day did put a good nail in the coffin but an Allied victory was going to happen either way.

Only 20pc of people in the war actually fired their weapon at the enemy.

So yeah, we probably lost some nice jeans.
