But that doesn't negate it. And it shouldn't be used as a paltry fucking excuse for you to casually shunt it aside and brush it off. Or for the guy who wrote the article. Stop taking the issue and thinking of it as black and white.

Instead, take a look at the whole fucking picture.

Both sides have some retarded societal baggage dropped and enforced on them. Feminism supposedly stands for equality for all right? And you wouldn't argue that.

So why dismiss that the possibility doesn't even exist that guys aren't oppressed or exploited when they clearly are, and have been? Why shunt one side into a category that's not oppression so therefore basically safe to discard?

I've stated twice already that I don't believe men OR women are oppressed, and that it's an inappropriate word to use to describe a 1st world country in the 21st century.

What I believe is that women are exploited. No one is being oppressed.

I just think it's an extremely hyperbolic word to use, so I won't use it.

Like, okay, I'll definitely agree with you on a certain point: if a man or woman (usually it's a woman) is only present to be a sexual object, then that's a bad thing. Connery-age Bond girls, chain-bikini chicks from old fantasy stuff, and so on. Yeah, that's bad.

But a man or woman simply BEING sexual or sexually alluring while also having a character to them isn't a bad thing, even if their looks play into their character.

The social pressures for women to be beautiful are much stronger than they are for males.
