the last few months were pretty rough

My employer used to have three locations here in San Antonio and during quarantine we shut two down and our entire regional management staff got axed and replaced by corporate stand-in who I'm pretty sure don't even know I exist. Between my mom getting arrested and my very low income over the last few months I feel like I've barely been scraping by.

Then, about a week ago, the UI office dropped ten grand in my lap and things are finally looking up. I'm relocating to be near friends, and in a city that wasn't hit so hard by Covid. I'm probably gonna put down a year's lease on an apartment up front, find a steady job,  and just enjoy a less stressful life for a while knowing that everything is taken care of.

Covid sort of caught me right in the middle of traveling through canada and then eventually down to the states. So I hunkered down in my truck camper over the winter, got two jobs and am just building up money before I hit the pavement again. I've been investing on the stock market to make some passive income so I can continue to travel without needing to stop in a province or state to make money. In order to make it lucrative enough that my money is in order, I'll have to stay in this province at my two jobs for about another year. I'm sort of okay with that. Part of me wants to get back to the road now that restrictions are lifting, but I'd end up passing through heavily infected parts of canada anyway. So for now I'm staying at my jobs, even if I want to ditch. The people I'm headed out to aren't going anywhere, and they can afford to wait infinitely for me. I'll show up someday.

I’m going on two weeks with no AC and the situation has lost its humor pretty damn fast. I really don’t understand why the office is dragging its feet over an issue that affects the place being straight up uninhabitable. This isn’t the north where the temperature outside drops to a somewhat decent range at night; it’s almost 4AM and the temperature outside is still 78 degrees and that’s the lowest for the day. There’s only so much a few fans can do; I know one of my roommates is contacting the office daily over it, but I’m going to talk with him about contacting corporate because waiting this long for a health issue like this is just unacceptable.
