This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.
Anything by Tolkien or Lovecraft will be great but poorly written.

The Book of Lost Things was pretty awful. The book I'm reading at the moment isn't too great either, but I don't know what I expected.

I'm dreading the moment when I reach Atlas Shrugged on my bookshelf.

I've always loved this quote from some /lit/ dude on the book.

"Essentially, Atlas Shrugged was a Railroad Tycoon fanfic with Dagny as Rand's mary-sue."

That and she uses it as a play pretend where everyone who has ever disagreed with her our found holes in her logic dies a slow and horrible death. It's really just a giant temper tantrum/personal fantasy book for her.

What's hilarious is that she was vocally paranoid that the Soviet's were going to take over Paramount and put a stop to her movie. As if the Soviets really gave a shit about some crazy bitches fanfiction filled with her very own brand of half-baked philosophy.

I have to agree on Tolkein <.<
I love the world, characters and everything but it's tedious to read. It's like Just william and excessive prose hit fantasy and made a weird mutant child ._.
A great mutant child, but one that is difficult to read.

Surprised no one's mentioned the book for necrophiliacs; Twilight.

Agreed. I never actually finished Return of The King, I just couldn't get through it.

Yes, I'm not the only one! I'm probably going to give it another go but I could only get through The Hobbit and the first book in the trilogy before I gave up and watched the movies, lol.

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
Of all the required reading that has faded away to the back of my mind, two stick out first and foremost as utterly shit pieces of literature. Fitzgerald's the Great Gatsby and John Knowels's a Separate Peace.

That feel when I read all four.
