It was just me saying he couldn't be more wrong about loving someone for something as ever fleeting as looks, is at all representative of something "deep" or loving them for themselves. Having good looks is akin to being the kid with the cool new toy.

People will flock around you and want to try it until it's suddenly old and boring, and then you realize they only used you for what you had, and didn't hang out with you for who you were

If you're so deluded as to think people loving you for looks is actually "love", then you have a real fucked up sense of what love is and it probably speaks even more that you're more of a shallow person than the looks represent you as (or you just had a fucked up past and haven't gotten the help you need), since you seem to be incapable of actual critical thinking. Or have something else to sustain others interest in you aside from just a shiny object.

not something someone else forced on you

family NEEDS to love you, other people dont

No, family doesn't need to love you. There are plenty of abusive parents and relatives. If anything most families are broken and dysfunctional.

and those families are seen as bad

if a mother doesn't love her child, she's a bad mom -- she has an obligation
if some random person doesn't love another person, that person isn't bad -- there's no obligation

so when someone non-family DOES love you, it means they love you for something you have, which is why that kind of love is so special

familial love means nothing. It's an expectation.

Not at all. I can do bad things and my mom would still love me. Not every mom would. That's what family is. Unconditional love. You learn how to love others because of family. If your family is broken and dysfunctional you'll treat others harshly and not know how to love others or why you should. It's an epidemic nobody really talks or cares about.
