Would you attempt to talk down a user here that is attempting to commit suicide?

1) I think I would just react and think about it afterwards

2) I would treat all suicide topic as serious. If the user is just trolling (Guess I've been trolled)

Well I'd like to say that I would try. One of my old friends did himself in last November, and another friend seems like she's on the brink. It's not something I like to take particularly lightly. However, there's just no telling what I'd do in that situation until I'm in it, I suppose.

2) I think that too many people just rush to say "don't do it" when they learn people thinking about suicide

It's important to listen and understand, not just immediately try to dissuade

I would absolutely save a stranger. I would listen to the suicidal person before trying to dissuade.

I would try, but it's pretty hard to be comforting through text, especially if it's someone you don't know in person.

Of course, I would hope everyone would do the same.
Though when it comes to actually doing something, people tend to get caught up in either recording it on their mobiles or idling as a bystander because they think someone else is going to do it. Always assume no bugger else is going to help, then you can get over that block yourself.

And yes, I would and I have done so a fair few times now. (Not just sep7agon, but B.net and skype acquaintances too)
You do the best you can to help someone out, regardless of who they are or what they have done. If you aren't able to help them yourself, send them to someone who can or if you feel it's too late and they've gone ahead and done something regrettable then you have to do your damnedest to get the emergency services to them.
