Spoiler Game of Thrones - Do you prefer the novels or the TV series?

Personally, I enjoy the books much more than TV show, although I like that as well. The novels has much more room to work with since it isn't limited to 10 hours of material per novel. And because Sansa's flower is intact and doesn't diminish my own fantasies of raping her.

Why did they have her get raped anyway? That seemed pointless as fuck to me.

Was it because they had no previous mention of Sansa's friend from the novels?

I started with the show but then went and read all the books. I think the first few seasons were a pretty good adaption but now they're just getting weird with their decisions.

I like both. Though the books have a lot more going on than the show (aegon blackfyre, quentyn etc) so I prefer them on that front because it's more content. I'm looking forward to S6 on monday, though. Looks pretty cool and hopefully a step-up from 5. I'm excited to see Euron.

After seeing spoilers for the S6 premiere I'm holding back a bit.

I'm in the process of reading the books and I'm enjoying a lot.

I started with the show, then read the books after Season 2 or 3 I think.
The last season was dire and maybe this one can recover but... eh...
Unless Stannis the Mannis gets the official axe in the next book, the show goes from adaptation to mediocre interpretation pretty quickly for me.

Quite aside from 'killing' him off, they ruined his bloody character as well near the end. Why is he doing all of this? To secure the rightful place of his bloodline. What does he do? Barbaque his daughter and end his lineage.
