so something i learned from my time in Sniggwaffe when i use to play EVE

the strong corps in EVE don't stick around and stay strong because they're good at EVE and they're all super interested in the game, they stick around because they've built a strong community not just by playing EVE, but by also making sure to interact with each other a lot through other avenues whether it be through their forum, other video games, shooting the shit on their mumble, or just holding stupid karaoke contests

a group that plays together stays together
Not to sound butthurt but when it's really just the weebs that play together and game nights never really attract people that can't happen.

We're a pretty tight knit community but we're not all close. I used play Ghost Recon with these 2 dudes at first and we eventually became a group of 17 people because we all talked to each other and got along. There was nobody that was "part of the group" but not part of a chat or another game being played. It was really tight knit.

Here, there's a group within the main group that chat together, play together, and spend time together. And nobody else is really welcome. You can't do that and then not expect the community to die off (albeit slowly).

Back with that group of people I used to play with it was different. We all had different views and ideals but we all respected each other and just threw the bullshit to the side. There I knew I could organize an event and everybody would be down to play (if they could make it). Here, I kind of feel like a stranger and that little to no one would actually care to join any event I organized. And it's not just me, it's several members who I've seen try to host gaming sessions with maybe a few people joining or even no replies to the thread. So they give up. It kinda has this high school vibe with only the "popular kids" mattering. Maybe that's what a lot of new members see too so they just bounce.
With the weebs playing together thing, it is fairly true. There are about 8-10 of us that play together regularly but it's not so much that nobody else is invited/allowed because we do have other sep7 people join us from time to time it's just that generally a lot of the games out these days don't support large groups of people playing together.

Say we all turn up for BF4, then it's two squads of people and shit gets a little clusterfucky. Halo is the one that kinda works, or dogpiling a BF4 server (Or BF1) but then it's not particularly easy to be playing together instead of playing on the same server/lobby.

What I'm kinda hoping 343 sorts out soon is the file browser, if they do we can get the good old halo custom gamenights running again. That had a great turnout and was a lot of fun when we set one of those up last year, 17 people I think at one point in the custom lobby.

So yeah, I'm hoping they sort out halo 5 soon but even if they don't there are at least the Ark and BF1 servers planned for the future that will be Sep7 dedicateds

I had a chat with Psy, and the idea of a BF1 Xbox server under our name could get people around on gaming grounds. I would gladly manage it with him too.

BF4's server was great.
Yep, when BF1 is out I'll try to sort out a BF1 server that lasts rather than goes up for a week and dies.

I think there is the plan to get an Ark server going too when crossplay becomes a thing so that may help that too.

how much do they cost

I would help chip in
Hard to say because it may change when they come out, but they are in that range of not cheap but not expensive, like £50 for 3 months or something (off the top of my head)
i have 26 money
But you also need to buy BF1 when that comes out

that will be seventy money

Our BF4 server was solid proof we can advertise the site in-game. There was no 'weebs only playing on it' or 'x group and y group' It was a mix of Sep7 and random online, I'm pretty sure we got a few guests after that night. But it was up for 4 days.

While I don't accept my thinking, what I meant with that was that they were the nonitalians of the mob.

Yeah, how did you get to that conclusion?
They're extremely active users that interact with the community both on and off the forums.  Plus, Chally blessed us with the video of him making Deci look 10 different kinds of silly on Halo.

I guess it was a mix of his own words from this thread and from before with the memory of him calling out multiple circlejerks that have happened with a bunch of users.

As for Das it's mostly that he doesn't have a persona, but more or less adapts to others. Someone likes hentai he likes hentai; someone is roleplaying as an anime character and he hits on that person.

We knew the world would not be the same.
A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita.
Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty
and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
"Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.."
I suppose we all thought that one way or another.

This is pretty spot on actually.

I don't know if anyone remembers, but back in 2014 when people first started using skype groups on here, everyone got along a lot better and anyone that was from Sep7agon just got thrown into one group and we all did calls together. We even had gamenights and shit. Over time it got bigger and smaller groups began to splinter off and eventually people became so separated after drama and shit that the only real groups that felt like "community" were small circlejerk groups that eventually died as well.

You can't really do anything with people here without being in some sort of group or clique but even that feels like it's dying.

Let's bring it back!

TBH part of the reason I stopped participating in Skype stuff is because one of the mobile updates basically broke the app for me and I could only communicate when I was at home. We should have more game nights, though. Maybe make a recurring schedule so that everyone knows when they're going to be going on. Like once a month on the 7th or something?

We should probably maybe think about advertising again too. Spread the word and all that. Like I said before, I am all for reeling in the rules so that the forum would be more welcoming to newbs and then leaving Anarchy for the crazy stupid fun zone.
