Did you put Forum Ninja on your resume?

That's actually how I got this job. My supervisor brought up video games, and I told him that I was a moderator on here without mentioning the site.

How did it go?

I didn't get the promotion. They told me I was the top performer of the year and that I knew the information better than them... So I don't really understand why I didn't get it. Oh well.
"the glass ceiling doesn't exist"

all that aside though, sorry you didn't get the promotion. Sounds like you should have

Note: I didn`t have English tests, they just assumed it from my CV and ability to understand other quizzes I guess

Ugh. That kind of stuff hurts my head. Like why build me up just to tear me down?

Because you're the top performer of the year and you know the information better than them, and it'd be inconvenient if you started thinking of quitting because they tore you down. They probably knew before you even walked in that you wouldn't get the promotion no matter what you told them.
So it was fake for the sake of giving her hope so she won't quit?

Well, they try to be P O L I T E, they don`t want some guy to rush into their reception with shotgun in one hand and middle finger in other. Also they awknowledged that I'm somewhat good, despite me passing or not and that I shouldn`t give up, even though there were fuckton of people to apply to same place, that are better than me.

They have other positions in mind for me. Even possibly the same position in a couple of months. They don't really ever plan things well here.

It has been my experience that if you work hard you don't get promoted. If you think about it from their perspective, they would be filling a pretty standard role with one of their top performing associates.

They don't want to change you to a new role when you're excelling at your other.

They can only do that to a person for some time, so long as they have the will to rise up the ranks and aren't much of a push over. Eventually they'll start to confront their superiors about it and if nothing changes then they'll seek out a better position in another company. That kind of management tactic very well may cost a business their most reliable workers.

It's a terrible practice tbh, but one that continues to permeate the American job market.

It's up to the individual whether to stay stagnant or move on. I got so many raises from my first job that I was making more than most supervisors, and that's only because I recognized I was a benefit and demanded a better wage.

Most people don't unfortunately.
