Immortality vs Having Kids

What's more important to you? Your genetic survival or your personal survival?

Say that you had to choose, before having children, that you could be given a treatment that would ensure your immortality, but it would sterilize you.

If you have kids, think if this decision was presented to you before having them.

Which do you choose?

If I absolutely HAD to choose, I'd probably go with immortality.

But neither genetic nor individual survival is important to me, so. . .

I think the idea of having children is to have a legacy that'll further your name. You worry about the future because ... well.. you don't want to be forgotten.

But you won't be forgotten if you're an immortal. There is literally no point in having a legacy when you will be remembered because you will live through that.

I don't know, while there are somethings I'd love to see such as humanity going to other planets and shit, but I think it'd be a really monotonous existence with all the interesting things being few and far between. And I really don't want kids, I don't think I'd be a great Dad.

That depends... Would I still get injured if I was immortal?
Like if a nuclear holocaust were to occur would I still be perfectly fine or would I suffer from the effects of the blast?
Similarly if I was dumped in space would I still suffer the pain of being in a vacuum?
