I'll take it a step further and say he shouldn't be a humanoid at all. In the next movies, Superman should be modeled after the aliens in Arrival.

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
Well, it really depends on how supes gets his sun provided powers.  If it's like how we absorb vitamin D then he would want to be white as shit. If he gets it from thermal energy then he would want to be black as tar.

But something more like the first should make more sense, imo.
