Yeah when you have absolute pitch its not hard, and the song itself isn't that hard. What I need to work on is the speed and my placement of the fingers, as well as the tempo. I actually slowed down the video at certain points to make sure I'm playing it correctly and tried again. Part of what makes it also easy is that this song is in Drop D tuning, and my guitar is currently in Drop D tuning.

What sucks about playing a song by ear is that guitar tabs and musical sheets tend to throw me off. I failed at reading music properly so professionally I'm a failure, not because I couldn't do it, but because for me, musical notes go beyond music sheets and guitar tabs. I visualize notes differently when I hear them and the black and white concept is rather dull and doesn't translate the same for me.

So having perfect pitch is a gift and a curse at the same time. I don't have relative pitch though, that is something I could perhaps train myself to do, but perfect pitch, I was born with it. No matter how much I would want to forget, I can't. Even the sound of someone ringing a bell or triangle or the sound of a car horn, I can hear the notes come out of it.

It drove me insane for awhile until I just got used to it.

Edit: Okay so guitar tabs are at least good for references. I had the note G on the 2nd string, but it suppose to be on the 3rd according to this tab, that only makes it easier actually.
