This is an M41A Pulse Rifle. 10mm, with a 30mm over-and-under Pump Action Grenade Launcher.



This is my uni coursework, but I'm really happy with how it's currently turning out even this early in texturing. Just thought I'd share.

Thanks, man. I still have a lot of texture work I need to do - the grip and action on the shotgun need to be a black/ grey plastic and the ejection port on the shotgun/ charging handle on the gun (it's actually an M1A1 Thompson SMG) need to be a more silver-ey grey.

But yeah I'm really happy with how it's going

thanks! Autodesk Maya for the model itself, and imported into Substance Painter for texturing. Think photoshop but for 3D models.

Maya is pretty commonly used in industry, a lot of 3D artist roles list maya proficiency as a requirement, but I'm not sure on the status of Painter in industry but I'm pretty sure it's also used.

So we have to present our model (aside from actually submitting the file itself, of course) and the textures in a .pdf file, which we're allowed to embellish with custom designs. I'm considering this as my opening page (my name, username and sketchfab links aren't present though)

I'm just an artist. I really want to make the M56 Smartgun at some point though. Next though is gonna be the Halo 2/3 Battle Rifle or the Halo Reach assault rifle.

No clue yet, I'm taking a gap year to figure it out, I like animation, more of the 3D stuff but I also like designing in illustration.
