I spilled boiling water all over my left hand.

I was going to pour myself some tea and I ended up spilling it on my hand. It's not like, burned with skin falling off and shit like that, my hand just... burns. I took whatever ice I have in my ice tray and put it in a bag on my fingers. Should I be worried? I doubt this is the kind of thing you go to the hospital for, maybe I could get a kiss to feel better about doing something so stupid? lol

If your skin did peel then a trip to the doctors would have been necessary. Just keep some ice on it and it should be fine.

lol cute, boiling water will give you serious burns i've got big scars on my arm due to spilling boiling on myself. mind you i was like a year old and just able to crawl so im not sure if that has anything to do with it (maybe your skin is more sensitive at that age???)

put toothpaste on the scald areas

OP, just ice and treat as any mild burn injury. Worry if things look infected and get antibiotics as needed from a doctor.
For future reference, immediate action should be to submerge the area in cool/cold water to stop the "cooking". Burns work like bacon when you've just taken it off the stove top.

If it's numb or discoloured, you should seek medical attention ASAP, otherwise, there's not too much to worry about, asides from the risk of infection.

Don't use ice or freezing water, either. Cooling it too quickly causes damage. It would be better to soak the burn in lukewarm water for 10-30 mins.

You're supposed to run it under luke warm water,

also hand and feet burns are the most dangerous because they can get infected easily.

What does it look lik now that it has been almost 20 minutes?

It's not the end of the world. As I said, as long as it's a minor burn you probably have nothing to worry about.

Tbh you guys, I am thinking my hand is fine. I don't think the water was hot enough to do serious damage. It wasn't boiling all the way, it was just beginning to make a tiny whistle. Plus my hand feels okay, besides the obvious burning. I think I will be fine.

if it's just red and blotchy you should be fine you probably scolded your hand pretty badly though. I suggest loosely wrapping a clean medical gaze around the burn with an ace bandage.

I don't know much about burns so sorry, but what kind of infection can you actually get from a burn? It doesn't sound like a thing that would lead to infection.

Just wanted to give you all an update. My hand feels fine now. It's not really noticeable unless my fingers touch something warm. I do feel it slightly when my hand is just doing normal hand things, but not a whole lot.
