not everything is on the extreme, man. of course drinking to cope with depression is harmful, but having a beer after a long day at work simply isn't harmful to anyone, in including oneself. your vapid hatred of drugs and drug users is, at best, too broad. hate the actions that ruin lives, like excessive drinking or using meth. don't hate the substance that, if used responsibly, can improve someone's quality of life.

People only drink and do drugs to get to a higher state of consciousness tbh. Ironically it does the opposite but gives the illusion of Consciousness which is why it feels nice

hate that all you want, but that doesn't justify your hatred of the substances themselves and the individuals who use them.

Usually medical painkillers are altered to not be as addictive, but there's still a risk. After I stopped taking my oxicontin (morphine) pills after a surgery a few years back I had withdrawal symptoms. I got dizzy and nauseous, I think my pulse increased as well.
But it got better pretty quickly.

To be fair I lowered the pill intake gradually, according to doctor's orders. I didn't need to do it for that long for the pain, but had to be weaned off it gradually to minimize withdrawal problems.
