You either die a hero or live long enough to become Mythic..
I want to get a new PC that is capable of running all newer games at High as a minimum. However I wanna see what I can get with that.

As a PC noob, I need suggestions.

Now, here are the details:

Budget: $1,000, preferably kept under $800.
Type of PC: For Gaming purposes, one seperate from any work.
My ideal PC: Can run any game at Ultra High with 3 monitors.
What I expect: A one monitor PC that can run almost all games.
Build or Premade?: Preferably Build, but if a Premade one catches my interest then sure.

Can any of you PC Master Race people help me here?

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.
Do you need periphals? If not you might be able to build something capable of running everything at high. If you do then then you're gonna need a bit more than $800-1000.

No I don't really need periphals.

I just need the basic stuff on that.

this too but maybe a month after this so nvidia board partners release some other options

800

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Jetbuilder/saved/bFkhP6

will come up with 1000 soon

This one is actually pretty great. It would work well. I may want to see about changing it a TINY bit, maybe just the case or processer. Preferences and all.

1k

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/nB8txr

damn..

Yeah...

I'll take the $800

I wouldn't change the processor unless you're thinking of going AMD or something

you'll have to buy a cooler too if you want an i5 6600k and an i7 build is probably not possible without spending another 100

that i5 is as good as it gets without sacrificing anything else

also the source white is the same price if you just want to change the color, otherwise you probably won't find a case that has as good cable management or cooling options at that price, there are many cheaper, but won't be as decent

True...
But if I did decide to go closer to 1k that i7 does look good.

people always like the sound of an i7 when building a gaming pc but the fact is that going from a 970 to a 980ti will almost double your performance in games, upgrading to an i7, you probably wouldn't even notice a 10% performance increase

it's a mistake most people make especially for PCs specifically towards gaming

that i5 1k build with a 980ti will run rings around a 1k i7 970 build when it comes to gaming performance
again it's not a work computer so yeah, the i7 will be better at photoshop and video rendering or whatever else but for games you probably won't be able to tell

go for it if you want but if you want the most performance in 3D applications, having a bigger GPU is way more important than an i7, besides, you can always upgrade that later

The only reason I would get an i7 is for that render ability, since i'm practicing game design and have dabbled a little bit into the 3d aspects. Which is something my "work" computer can't do at all.

Other than that. No real reason.

video rendering is different from 3D rendering, and that alone requires specialty workstation cards not normally used by consumers, such as nvidia quadros and AMD firepros which are thousands of dollars each on their own for the latest models, which are designed specifically for things like rendering movie CG and perform rather poorly in realtime 3D applications such as games.

either way in this case the 980ti would still be better than having an i7, since it is still a 3D application you're working with, ultimately most modern software would offload as much of the calculations to the GPU as possible as well as have support for GPU acceleration

the i7 would see more use in this than in games because of HT but would still not be as fast as having a 980ti and an i5. Again, the question here is if you want the best possible gaming PC for this price or a workstation machine, because without a GPU you could just build a server instead. I can't stop you though, it's your money, if you really really want the i7, get one
