When I was younger my friend and I had an imaginary world setting for our play-time escapades called (imaginatively) "Invisible World." Did you play in imaginary settings or with imaginary characters?

Mental. It's basically self induced schizophrenia done so you can have a friend/sexual partner with you in your head 24/7. I used to have one but it was too much work to maintain. She was really mad when she realized I was going to let her fade.

It's not real schizophrenia, that's really just the term a lot of people use to describe it because of how vivid the hallucinations can get. In a nutshell, the process involves spending extended periods of time every day imagining the entity, while trying to partition a section of yourself to be reserved for the entity. You have to talk to it and address it as if it's already sapient, and eventually you start getting responses from it. Eventually, the responses will feel like they're coming from a mind separate from your own, and the hallucinations can be quite vivid.

I wasn't dedicated enough to the process to achieve maximum results, but I did have a companion. More dedicated tulpamancers report that it can be fairly intense.
