This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.
Unless I've missed one, it's been a while since we had a book thread. So, let's fucking have one. Here's a quiz, you cunts:

- Favourite fiction genre?
- Favourite non-fiction topic?
- What're you reading at the moment?
- What's on your bookshelf that you're yet to read?
- What's on your wishlist?

My answers:
- Fantasy.
- Econ.
- Greg Ip's Little Book of Economics and GRRM's A Feast for Crows.

Stuff on my bookshelf I'm yet to read:
- Napoleon the Great by Andrew Roberts.
- Logic by Wilfred Hodges.
- A Universe from Nothing by Lawrence Krauss.
- Ideas have Consequences by Richard M. Weaver.
- House of Debt by Mian and Sufi.
- Hume's Enquiries by David Hume.
- Superintelligence by Nick Bostrom.
- Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg.
- Boom and Bust Banking by David Beckworth.
- The World as Will and Representation by Arthur Schopenhauer.
- The Science of Evil by Simon Baron-Cohen.
- The Federal Reserve and the Financial Crisis by Ben Bernanke.
- Sense and Goodness Without God by Richard Carrier.
- The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins.
- Free to Choose by Milton and Rose Friedman.
- And of course A Dance with Dragons by GRRM.

My wishlist:
- Black Rednecks and White Liberals by Thomas Sowell.
- Our Final Invention: Artificial Intelligence and the End of the Human Era by Thomas Barrat.
- Caesar by Adrian Goldsworthy.
- Recessions and Depressions by Todd Knoop.
- Monetary Theory and Policy from Hume and Smith to Wicksell: Money, Credit, and the Economy by Arie Arnon.
- This Time is Different: Eight Centuries of Financial Folly by Reinhart and Rogoff.
- A Monetary History of the United States, 1867-1960 by Milton Friedman.

- Favourite fiction genre?
Military Sci-fi

- Favourite non-fiction topic?
Animals/Biology

- What're you reading at the moment?
Still reading the churchill book I got in september, it's... slow paced. But auto-biographies tend to be a bit... dry <_<
Dexter in the something alliterated, I haven't decided whether I've already read this one or not so I'm not quite diving in
as I did with the previous one that I read (even though I had already read it, the Moloch book is one of my favourites >_>)
And Telling Lies by Dr Ekman
- What's on your bookshelf that you're yet to read?
Enders Game
Dune
Another Dexter book
Something else that I forget but can't be arsed to go look at <_<

- What's on your wishlist?
The Warmaster, latest Gaunts Ghosts book which comes out tomorrow. Four bloody years since the last one, but I guess it'll do him good to have taken a break between them to get fresh ideas and whatnot and this one sounds especially promising given that it's meant to be set on Urdesh >_>_>_>_>
(Hard to explain to non-40k fegs but Urdesh is basically a gigantic factory planet that was overrun by the bad guys and it's been churning out tanks, weapons and abominations for the best part of the crusade that the ghosts series focuses around <_<)

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
Adventure for Fiction, Military History for Non-Fiction.

Currently reading A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (though haven't had a read of it in a while), and I've got a collection of Sherlock Holmes to read afterwards.

Nothing really on my wishlist, though I have to check if there are more books from Clive Cussler or Flashman.

They say you are what you eat, but I don't remember eating mYsELF
and GRRM's A Feast for Crows.
That was the hardest one to get through. Focuses on all the worst characters pretty much.

I deleted my list because I wasn't planning on getting the books, but it was something like this:

I think there were more books that I wanted to read, but I can't remember them.

I've got The Name of the Wind and its sequel but haven't yet finished the first yet. I need to pick it up again this summer. I also had Blood Song recommended to me but haven't started it yet. Both are fantasy.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.
ive only read one book willingly >.>

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
- Favorite fiction genre?
Used to be fantasy novels like the works of Sara Douglas or Karen Miller. I haven't found any that really caught my eye lately, though I think I'm going to try and find a bunch of my Dad's old Wheel of Time books one of these days.

- Favorite non-fiction topic?
military history

- What're you reading at the moment?
I've still had Lolita on a midway pause for like, a year.

- What's on your bookshelf that you're yet to read?
>bookshelf.

- What's on your wishlist?
My Amazon wishlist contains Glukhovsky's Metro 2034 and Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by Erik Larson. Really want to check out more Nabokov like The Defense and Ada once I finish Lolita.
