Anyone here with some first hand experience with this kind of stuff want to share how they got into this kind of stuff or political extremism? I fully understand the process of how these theories and alt stuff takes hold but I'm always interested in hearing a practical example.
I just realized that I have yet to see a single (serious) conspiracy theory about AI. Seems really strange now that I think about it. Artificial Intelligence and machine learning sound like they would be the perfect topic for one. Lack of extensive regulation, inacessible to the average person, almost exclusively the domain of big unaccountable companies and governments, potential military/police/political applications, plenty of threats to many people (robotics taking jobs) and lots of (smart) skeptics, capable of controlling just about every aspect of society from the shadows... Seems to me like you couldn't hope for a better topic for a conspiracy theory and yet I'm not finding any.
Who?

It probably also has to do with the lack of any real events. AI is still in its infancy and AGI is just a pipe dream. There haven't been any attacks, major accomplishments, system failures or mishaps. Nothing to be covered up and no actions or behaviors that might raise suspicion. Conspiracy theories usually involve some kind of event (9/11, moon landing) or (in)observable phenomenon (chemtrails, flat earth, vaccinations, civil unrest) that involve a powerful and elusive group (NWO, governments, illuminati...) keeping it hidden or causing it in the first place. AI hasn't seen any of that happen yet.
