I cry every few years or so if there's something to cry about that's been happening and building up.

Apart from that I'm a little bitch with movies, I'll seriously tear up over something as default as a 'touching' scene in an Avengers movie. Luckily cinemas are dark and I blink it away.

I cry a lot, but over TV shows and such

like whenever I rewatch Twin Peaks, that's just too much

never seen it, isn't it just about drug addictions?

why on earth would you like a movie about that?

it's primarily about four people who destroy their lives and aspirations with drug addictions, yeah
i mean, it goes a little deeper than that, but that's the most glaringly obvious topic

the reason i like it is because it's literally Don't Do Drugs: The Movie

you probably wouldn't like it, because it's a little bit overwrought and anvilicious--or it might scare you straight, idk

it gets my goat, though
literally top 3 movie for me

I love to cry sometimes srs

Every 5-6 months or so when I need a good cry I'll lock myself in my room and watch lots of sad videos. The things that are my weakness are videos of soldiers coming home and surprising their children at home or school (these turn me into a blubbering baby) and this video of a comedian telling a story of when his daughter got diagnosed with cancer just as he started becoming famous and getting put on tv shows, so he had to hold it together on stage while he was falling apart inside. Fucking wrecks me man

I think crying is very healthy. I always feel incredible afterwards

Makes sense, but I just meant I don't see how you'd sympathize with drug addicts, much less feel sad for their plight.

Here's some shows/movies that will almost certainly make you cry:

--Twin Peaks is the #1
--Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul
--True Detective
--Freaks and Geeks
--Little Miss Sunshine
--Chinatown
--Miller's Crossing
--Heathers
--It's a kid show, but Gravity Falls has a bunch of heartbreaking episodes

it has its way of humanizing the characters in such a way that, while you acknowledge their idiocy, you can understand it from their point of view--and the performances really sell it

the mother ends up being the most sympathetic character, for reasons i don't think i should spoil--let's just say that her addiction isn't exactly all her own fault

see, it's not just about drug addictions--it's about addiction in general, and how it manifests in many, sometimes innocuous, ways--it's a desperate plea to the audience not to fuck their lives up with anything, whether it be drugs or something else

i regret calling it "Don't Do Drugs: The Movie," i think that paints it in a bad light

it's more like, "Don't Let Anything Steer You From Your Dreams: The Movie"
or fuck it, just "Requiem for a Dream"--it's titled perfectly as it is

so yeah, go see it

oh my god, the first time I saw that was when I was like 13, and I cried for way longer than I'd ever admit

I don't know if I'm autistic or some shit, but I don't really bawl or anything when real life events dictate I should, but I do with fictional stuff that doesn't even matter.

I used to a lot as a kid but one day I had this sort of epiphany (Spelling?) where I sort of realised I was just being pathetic and since then I haven't really ever done it since. Aside from when told my dog might be put down after she broke her leg anyway (She was old at the time so it wasn't worth getting the surgery done because she might not be able to handle it). Thankfully I've still got her today but that's pretty much one of the only things that would make me do that.

I probably should, it's more or less a classic. I think I would just feel terrible afterward, though, like after I saw The Pursuit of Happiness. It's just one big downward spiral from what I've heard of it - not that it shouldn't be, if it's a movie about hard drugs - but I just don't feel like I'd get much entertainment out of it.

I'll end up watching it regardless at some point, though. I only watched Chinatown the first time because I wanted to knock out some classic movies from my watch list, and it ended up being one of my favorite films of all time.

And honestly, what kind of achievement is that? Why is it looked down upon to cry?
