I made an appointment with them today. Long story short I attempted to downgrade my phone from 8.1.3 to 8.1.2
What happened next was unexpected. My carrier says no service. I thought it was a bug with the OS itself. So I upgraded back to 8.1.3, Still says no service. Somehow my cell service got reket. I don't know why. iOS 8.1.2 is still signed and I didn't do anything that counts as tampering unless it's jailbreaking, which I did not do.
What's really weird is that since I have Verizon, I dialed *228. It activates it, but it only works on WiFi. If I turn the cellular option on and off, it goes back to no service. Which would mean I'd have to dial *228 again. It's not a service issue because people can still call me normally but my phone won't ring unless it's on WiFi after *228 dialed. Like my 3G got fucked or something.
So tomorrow at 1:00pm PDT, I'm going to have a chat with Apple, see if they can fix my problem. If they are unable to fix the issue, I'll just have to talk to my sister to have one of my older non-smart phones activated until September for my next upgrade. Or just not have a phone until September.
I've tried everything from reinserting the SIM card to resetting the whole phone to factory defaults. Nothing.
If there is one thing I learned, it's that I am never fucking with iOS devices again. I'm done with that shit.
