I personally didn't care for the cases from both the Japanese DVD and western DVD release, they seemed very dry just slapping a different character on it along with some crazy background, but maybe that's just because I'm a sucker for minimalism/box set specific cases. The US release of the perfect collection had a nice box set but the cases inside were just the standard US single DVD cases.

Minimalism is the best. I'll have to go check which one I have.

Temporarily yes. Usually when an item is on back order, they plan on making it on a "whoever orders one" basis. Because the product was released almost two years ago, it doesn't make sense for Bandai to continue to mass produce the model kit, so when they get an order for one, they have to make each piece tray individually to order which takes time. This is pretty common for kits that are over a year old, the only time you'll find a kit over a year old and still in stock is because it's either A. Super popular (like most of the UC/SEED series) or B. The first batch stocks didn't sell as well as intended.

TL;DR: Back order means "made to order" for model kits.
