Ur not getting paid for this spooky shit?
Do they at least give you food?
Quote from: LC on July 31, 2015, 01:46:58 AMDo they at least give you food?Of course they do. They set up mobile camps. The red cross is up there supplying food and bunks/tents and medical aid and all that shit. You get dropped off back at camp at the end of the day by a chopper and get picked up in the morning to fly farther out because there's no roads that far north.

It's hard to socialize when you literally wake up, eat as fast as you can, gear up, get in the chopper, and head out. You come back at the end of the day, eat, remove gear, sleep, rinse and repeat.
What made you want to volunteer for that?

I get along well with older people. He's probably the only person around who I've had a chance to talk to really.

I always presumed that where he lives it was pretty much a permanent snow cover.I'd expect big fires to be something like you see in the south US or Australia or something.
