I remember there being a huge scandal about the poor state of how pigs were raised, but I'm uninformed on the rest of the industry here

Might give it another go. I find that the cold turkey approach works best for me with this kind of stuff, instead of gently weaning myself off it.

I can understand it now. The lack of holding up the standard for all animals (pigs being as intelligent as 3 year olds or something it's been proven) is why I can understand it now. I almost lost it when I saw that one worker just punching and kicking that Calf.

Dude I've said countless times that I am a chicken house operator.

I literally have to walk through the houses everyday, find the defective or dying chickens, and kill them.

I am a farmer, but a farmer within the meat production industry.

my point is that killing another organism for your own personal gain is, by my definition, inhumane

so it literally does not matter how you do it--the only justification i can think of is if the animal is already suffering in some way, so you put it out of its misery--but is its meat going to be any good at that point? i don't know
