Humans have rights because despite being animals, we elevated ourselves to a level much above the others, to the point we can decide what rights we and other animals have.

we have decided that, as a whole, humans generally have the same rights as other humans. With dumb exceptions we have been working against over time.

We also get to decide the rights of animals, and at least according to myself, there aren't any.

but I do agree that the meat industry needs improving, because less stressed meat is tastier.

Right. And we should have decided a long time ago that we can no longer justify slaughtering and torturing animals for food.

Nobody needs meat. Nobody needs dairy. Nobody needs eggs.

The only thing you need is B12, which there are supplements for, as well as fortified foods.

There is no excuse not to be a vegan.
