How does this website get so many users?

I noticed that there seems to be 24/7 activity on this website. From what I've gathered this website is actually just an off shoot of bungie.net, which was probably started to preserve the old atmosphere of bungie before the update. Like, how do people even know to come here? Was there some huge revolt where people would spam links to this website on bungie.net to garner attention? I just don't get how an off shoot website which isn't even affiliated with bungie could get so much traffic.

I haven't seen any new members except for that one spike when bnet forced players to have an account to post

If you're talking about the guests, those are mainly bots or people from bnet lurking

bungie was always garbage at moderating their site. I think that I was literally banned like 20 times on my single loaf account and countless other times on my shit loads of alts. Eventually I think foman or recon eventually messaged me and was like, look you have been banned like 24 times times, you obviously don't learn from your mistakes and aren't going to change your behavior, so you're going to be banned permanently. So I think I pleaded with them to make the ban a year or two, but then the site updated and everyone was unbanned anyways. But yeah that website was retardedly authoritarian.
